Day in the Country - 2nd September 2023
A Celebration of Local Colour!
Day in the country is our annual community fete. A day full of food, fun, music and community. We have bands playing, traditional country games (like lamby-poo lotto, dunny toss, and scarecrow building competitions), art show, food stalls and a full market of wares, crafts and bounty and much more.
Come along and enjoy a day in the country at our village fair's 35th Anniversary! This year we will be celebrating everything that makes our community wonderful and diverse, a true celebration of local colour. We will have demonstrations from local businesses (such as a composting demonstration by WormBiz), an art show packed full of extraordinary artists, entertainment all day across two dedicated stages, and even a book signing by our local Ted Prior accompanied by a real-life Grug!!

It's the perfect day out for the whole family and our favourite day of the year as it brings together the whole community to support each other and revel in the diverse skills and talents our village has to offer.
Annual Art Show
Submissions close 19th August
29th August - 2nd September 2023
This year we are so excited to announce some new things that are happening for our annual Art Show. Not only will we be displaying a gorgeous selection of works by artists from all over the region as selected by our panel of judges from our local art group, but we are introducing a new prize!
The People's Choice Winner (as voted on the day and in the lead-up using the online showcase) will win a fully funded, pre-booked solo exhibition at The Edge Gallery in Taree.
Submissions are open to all artists of all regions and mediums so long as you can hand-deliver the works to the hall for exhibition.
Keeping with the tradition of the Annual Art Show, the Art Group Showcase will be on display.
All art will be available for sale and can be browsed online in advance of the exhibition and for purchase on the day.
Come along and celebrate with us!

Grug is coming to Killabakh!
Local author Ted Prior, famous for his Grug series, will be doing book signings and an author talk accompanied by a real-life Grug at this year's Day In The Country.
